Anyone have inside info or insight? Will Clear Channel Radio pull its stations from Arbitron's ratings?
I'm Thinking So.

RRBWill Clear Channel Radio pull its stations from Arbitron's ratings?
If they pull out, it's just that they can not quote where they stand in the Arbitron ratings which helps sell advertising. I would bet they will pay Arbitron for the rights to use them in the last few ';minutes';. Unless, another company starts to do ratings and have the respect of the industry like Arbitron does. Lots of the few remaining smaller radio stations don't subscribe, but they still see how that rate.

Ohh look we are #1 with 12 to 18 yrs Old...larger advertisers selling houses and cars don't care, but the station can claim they are #1 in their market...don't have to say it's among kids.
Not on the inside, but my guess is it's a ploy until Nielsen is ready to roll it's stuff.

Basically the three measuring are Arbitron, Edison Research, and Now Nielsen... However Arbitron is the defacto standard... and with Clear Channel being so big, I think they are trying to throw their weight around to get good rates as well as a way to manipulate the ratings more.. or at least get some time until Nielsen can compete and cause a war with the weight of each.
